I have to remind myself that it’s ok to have bad days. Not every day will be good. What I have to work on though is, not dwelling in the bad day and having it follow me into the next days. What I find helpful in not letting it spill into the next day is writing and music. I’ll write in my journal whatever im feeling and then let it roll off my back. I try not to bottle up my feelings. Its not healthy and it can be pretty stressful sometimes. Just my random thought of today.
It isnβt what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.β

Working in EMS you tend to learn very quickly that you have to take everything with a grain of salt, don’t expect certain things and to always be flexible.
“You can have a plan, but you have to be flexible. Every day is unpredictable, and you just have to go with the flow.”
– Jane Krakowski
Starting off the week with coffee is honestly my happy place. Working in EMS, we sometimes rely on that need of caffeine. Not saying it’s a good thing, but it helps us make the shift more enjoyable. I start early so I need that little boost. Getting to work by 7 am is rough sometimes and then we don’t know when our day exactly ends just a rough estimate. So coffee tends to help.
Usually I will make my Green Tea or Breakfast Tea in the morning and by the time I get to work I try to find a coffee shop to go grab a coffee. This week though, I am going to try something a little different, a little healthier. I have a Keurig at home, copious amounts of coffee, creamer and little extras. Why have I been spending all my money at coffee shops? We usually go to Starbucks because there are tons of them in my area. I just recently looked at the calories and sugars in certain drinks and….oh boy I was shocked…π€― some of the coffees that I drank had as much sugar as a soda!
With that realization I am going to be trying my hand at making my “fancy coffees” at home this week, as a test run. Then hopefully I can keep this up and when I feel like coffee I’ll continue to make it at home.

Happy Monday everyone! Stay safe, stay strong and have a positively good day! π
“You sir have another feather in your cap. Your bedside manner has made me feel so comfortable and trusting of you.”

This fall I started my second semester to earn my Associates of Science in Fire Technology. Along the way I am learning more than just what I thought I was. I’m learning about different certification programs, credentials I can earn, EMS/First Responder life and so much more! I can’t wait to learn as much as I can and share it along the way! (:

I hear this all the time in my military career and in EMS. It is very true. Dont take training lightly.
