3 Movies In 3 Days

Alright everyone, I have 3 more movies to watch, in 3 days!

This Pandemic is still going on and many of us may still be finding ourselves with a lot of free time on our hands. These 3 movies can keep you entertained, and are fairly long so it will definitely help pass the time. These movies I’m talking about are: The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and Inferno. I found this trilogy to be quite captivating. The movies are inspired by the book series by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks portrays the main character in all of these movies, which is nice because the same actor is kept playing the role. Ben Foster, Ewan McGregor and Paul Bettany also play roles in these movies. I watched part of The Da Vinci Code when I was younger, but didn’t quite understand it. Then again, I maybe got 20 minutes into it and switched it off. It wasn’t exactly the type of movie I was interested around that age. Now that I’m older and have a different outlook on movies, appreciation of history and good musical composition. I decided that I might actually enjoy it. So we, my boyfriend and I decided to watch these on our movie night.

The Da Vinci Code

This film was produced back in 2006 with Tom Hanks cast as the main character. It dives straight into secret societies and their hidden past dating back to the birth of Christianity. The main character Robert Langdon is basically thrown into all these whirlwind events. The movie is a race with Langdon to uncover the truth about what happened and why. Over a span of about 2 hours and 30 minutes, its on the longer end, but well worth it. The musical composition is also amazing and makes you feel more in the movie. If you want to hear some of the musical pieces on Spotify, click below:

Angels and Demons

This second Fim , we find ourselves right back at it with Robert Langdon. This time he’s called upon because the Illuminati have surfaced and there are puzzles only he can figure out. Langdon eventually finds himself searching through Vatican City to find the clues to stop the massive destruction of the city.

Inferno

This is the last movie of the trilogy. Inferno starts off again with Robert Langdon suffering from retrograde amnesia, he’s told from trauma to the head. He is needed to decrypt hidden messages and stop a deadly virus from being unleashed on the world. Watching the first two movies comes, it to no surprise as to why they want Langdon in the first place. More secrets, more puzzles to solve all while running from multipe government agencies. Who can he trust? This movie also has a wonderful composition. Just listen for yourself down below.

I would have never come across these unless Chris suggested the, because he wanted to watch them. These movies had long been out of the spotlight and overshadowed by the more recent comic book films. We decided to just watch one movie each night, so we could unwind and look forward to something to do the next day. I thoroughly enjoyed these movies and the music that emphasized them . They were extremely entertaining and fun to watch. Grab some snacks, kick back and get comfy. I hope you enjoy the movies as much as I did. 💚

After taking my pup Rex for his walk, I decided I wanted to do a HIIT workout before my Yoga. So I scrolled through YouTube trying to find something with enough intensity but still kind of low impact. I can’t jump into high intensity extreme yet because I still have to watch out for my stress-fracture in my tibia. Her video had low impact exercises to go with every exercise she showed. I absolutely loved that! It allowed me to do the full workout at my pace. Here’s to June and putting my best fitness foot forward!

What are some of your goals, wants and plans for June? Have fun and stay safe out there my lovelies! ❤️

My Top 5 Movies on Quarantine

Finally Catching Up on That Movie List

So I have this GIANT list of movies that I have been procrastinating on watching. I always said I was too busy, there was no time or I would eventually get around to it. I think I originally started this list back in 2016 on my deployment year. I was off and on about adding movies and shows from 2016 to now. Since I was in Corpsman school this past January all the way up until April, I had some down time to watch movies and catch up on things. This definitely helped when my brain turned into mush from studying. I think I was able to watch about fifteen movies or so. Well, at least the ones I can remember. I would watch a movie about once a week to kind of chill out and relax. When March hit, so did COVID-19, and oh boy did I watch more Netflix and Hulu than I ever have before.

Watching movies isn’t just a good way to pass time, it’s also relaxing and fun. Watching movies and creating your bucket list of things you want to watch helps pass time during the pandemic. Instead of going to the movies, bring the movies to you, while staying home and staying safe. Before the pandemic, I used to love going to the movies. Minus spending what felt like a million dollars every time, it was fun. There’s that movie theater vibe, the smell of stale popcorn and butter flavored oil in the air. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 it may be a while before I visit the movie theaters again. That’s okay though, I can bring the movies to me. On the plus side I wont have to spend a million dollars to watch the newest movie. Down below are the movies I watched, with a tiny review. On a side note, no matter how good my reviews are, I’m not a professional.

Zodiac

Dun dun dun! I have wanted to watch this movie because it took place in California. Since I live here, I wanted to watch and learn about him and what he did. This film came out in 2007 starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo as the main characters. It’s a long movie but don’t be daunted by it! It is worth the watch and it will draw you into the movie until the very end. I would personally give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 stars!

Togo

Oh boy, kudos to Disney again. This movie had me in tears, don’t worry though they were happy, not sad tears. Togo is about the dog who made the famous Serum Run in Alaska in 1925. William Dafoe plays the main character and does a hell of a job! This movie is intense, heartwarming and a tearjerker. This movie 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕 5/5 I would watch it again.

Doctor Sleep

Doctor Sleep is the years that happened after The Shining. It follows Dan Torrance as an adult and the events he encountered. He must protect someone just like him. This had me in my seat, shielding my eyes at some points because I decided to watch it in the dark of night. Loved the suspense, and the small flashbacks to The Shining. 🌟🌟🌟 3/5 stars for this scary movie.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

Isn’t that some type of movie title? As crazy as this movie title goes is as crazy as this movie goes. After what we know about Harley Quinn, Margot Robbie does an outstanding job with all that Harley energy. From crazy outfits, to wild fights, this movie will keep you interested and waiting to see what it brings next. P.S this movie is MUCH better than Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn, you get 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 enjoy that single life!

Zombieland: Doubletap

Zombieland Rule #2 – Double Tap You think it’s dead (technically it was before you shot it), one more makes 100% sure. Zombieland: Doubletap is as ridiculous and funny as the first Zombieland. The cast for this movie work so well together and give you all the laughs you can need. Never under estimate zombies, Elvis lovers and Hippies. I’ll make sure to follow up on the rules if a Zombie apocalypse ever happens. Thanks for the rules. This movie gets a 🧟🧟🧟🧟 4/5 zombie score from me.

The Hunt

Don’t be deceived by the title into thinking this movie is horror. I thought it was but my laughs said otherwise. Who will win in this Hunt? And by win I mean…live. In a previous post that I wrote about it, goes into more detail here. If you like comedy, you’ll enjoy this movie. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 stars.

Let’s get to watching!

These were my top choices of the movies I’ve watched so far. Every so often, more shows and movies come up that I just add them to my journal. What makes the movies at home more fun, is the perks. Popcorn, comfy pillows a nice drink, or my personal favorite, a pint of ice cream! I suggest Ben and Jerry’s. Make it like a movie theater, but better. You can have the ambiance of going to the movies, but in the comfort of your own home. It’s always fun to watch movies with your friends, your loved ones, or make a social distance movie night! There are many ways to spice it up and enjoy a night in at the movies. Some items that may make it more fun and delicious are listed below:

“They call themselves Birds of Prey. I call them dorky little do-gooders.”

– Harley Quinn

The Hunt

Surprised? Yes

Last night we decided to watch a movie called: The Hunt. The background of this movie is that Elite’s kidnap people that they think did the world wrong. These non elite people had an inkling on what was going on but wasn’t sure. In the genre, they have it as horror, action and thriller…It is none whatsoever a horror movie! They should replace it though with comedy because boy did I laugh during this movie. There are a lot of great funny actors that I think play their part very well for the movie. I don’t want to put a lot of spoilers in the movie except, the main character…She is a badass!

During this quarantine I know it feels like forever. Time doesn’t really mean anything anymore and it may feel like the days never end. Movies do help pass the time which is nice and you can catch up on them. Maybe you may have a bucket list of movies to watch, I know I do. I’m slowly crossing them off as I have movie nights. Make a day out of it, enjoy yourself and take quarantine life to another level. Stay strong my lovelies. ❤️

Happy Birthday Mom!

“Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights and our comfort when we occasionally falter.”

Celebrating a Birthday during a Pandemic may look a little unconventional. Even though it might be a little different you can still celebrate and have fun. Today I celebrated my Moms Birthday with my family over a thousand miles away. My mom and dad still decorated the house with our birthday signs and my mom wore the traditional “Birthday Hat.” I’m glad we can still find ways to celebrate and be close with my family miles apart. Happy Birthday Mom! Love you ❤️
