A little TLC Can Go a Long way

My poor face has been needing a little extra love from me lately. Wearing N95 masks with another mask over it just doesn’t help. Plus, the weather has been changing back and forth from hot to cold and my working environment (EMS) can get sweaty at times.

I always love when I can find enough time to pamper myself, especially my face. I noticed that my face was starting to break out more than usual. I have large pores and I started to see excess oil and my face looking a little dull and tired. My problem areas for oil are especially on my nose, chin and forehead. So this skincare routine I was more focused on that and just making sure that my skin was clean and fresh, and free of pollution that it collected.

To start off this pampering routine I threw my hair into a bun and put on my Alien Teddy Headband. I wanted to add a little fun into my night. For an overall wash I used Kate Somerville’s wash. Then to fix the oil problem on my nose I decided to use pore strips to take care of it. Next I let my face relax a little bit and used the Matcha Tea Mask all over. The mask is used to pull the pollution from your face. After I washed my face, I saw that my pores were clean, my face felt more smooth and it definitely felt better overall. After that, (what’s not shown) I spray my face down with Strawberry Face Mist from The Body Shop. This takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.

Have fun with pampering yourself! Light your favorite smelling candle, put some music on and wear comfy clothes. I would say make a snack but it’s a little hard to eat while you’re wearing a mask. I hope you enjoy a pampering day. Down below are the items I used and where to find them.

Self Care Sunday

Being safe by staying indoors all day can be taxing. Whether you are essential personnel or not, we all play a crucial part in keeping everyone safe. With that being said, don’t let yourself fall off. Don’t forget about taking care of your mind, body and soul. Doing and seeing the same thing everyday, can start having the groundhog effect. It happened to me before on deployment and I felt it happening now at school. Today I mustered up the energy to treat myself to a “self care Sunday.” I needed that little routine to bring me out of my funk. So let me share with you what I’m doing today.

Routine for the Day

First and foremost I made myself a coffee. I can not crawl out of bed without making myself some coffee or tea. I just used the Donut Shop K-Cups with a little cream and sugar. The stronger the better. After my coffee, I got a start on my meal prepping for the week. While that was conveniently cooking in the Instapot, I decided to do a hair mask in the shower. Basically a hair mask is a deep conditioning for your hair. You can do all kinds of hair masks, it just depends on what result you want. I decided on trying out Marc Anthony Strictly Curls. I never really do these things so I thought it would be fun to do. I left it in for 10 minutes after shampooing my hair and my hair came out so soft! The curls seemed to be brought back to life and it wasn’t as frizzy. Since being here in school I may have just let my hair care go a little. I wear it up in a bun all day, every day, so it definitely needed this treatment. After that, I decided that I need to get back into my Yoga. So I am starting a new 30 day at home Yoga routine called, “Yoga with Adriene.” I have been doing her videos for over a year now and I love them. They help you find your balance and bring back a calmness over your mind and body. Today I did “Day-1 Recognize.” After the exercise I felt like all the stress was released. I definitely feel like my soul was realigned and calmed. Finding that inner peace is so important in general, but especially in a time when there is so much stress around. Next it was time to eat. I have a bad habit of not eating enough and its something I’m working on. So today I decided on something quick, easy and healthy. It’s smoothie time! To me there’s nothing better than making a fresh berry smoothie the way you like it. So while I drink my smoothie it’s time to write. I love to write, I love sharing my day and my ideas with you. It brings out my creativeness and I genuinely enjoy it. After writing, the rest of the day I will spend playing video games, maybe do some laundry, eat dinner and just relax. Being able to give yourself a day off from everything is so important. It allows yourself to rest and recharge for the upcoming weeks. Try not to fall into the monotonous rhythm, it impacts you more than you may think. Stay safe and stay healthy! Try something new everyday, maybe start a new routine. Down below I listed the Yoga routine, some music I’m listening to today and some video games I will be playing. Have fun my lovelies!

Self Care Sunday?

Does “Self Care Sunday” Only Have To Be On Sunday?

The answer to that is simple. No. What “Self Care Sunday” is all about is taking a breath and realizing you need time for you. A tiny break from the craziness of the world to focus on your heart, health, soul and of course face masks! Self Care Sunday is generally known to be done on Sunday because it marks the end of a week for most of you. You can do these little “self cares” on any day that you have time, or feel that you need it. My goodness it could be on Thursday at eight o’clock if you’d want!

What I Do For My Self Care Day!

For my day, it generally has been falling on Sunday. Sometimes it will be the day after though it just depends on my schedule. I like to do this time with mom, because she could always use a break from my brother especially lol. We like to keep it simple, a yummy semi healthy dessert, maybe a fancy drink, face masks and one of her TV shows she likes to watch. Sometimes we involve dad too, but not yesterday. We used a charcoal face sheet mask, (I’ll have everything we used in a list for you), watched Dead Files, split a strawberry cheesecake, and did a warming olive oil treatment for our hair! It was super relaxing, fun and mom and I always love when we do things together. This helped kind of rejuvenate us for the upcoming week, a recharge for our batteries since were constantly going. This is exactly what its supposed to do, relax and recharge. It helps when you can enjoy it and not have to rush or anything.

Self Care Sunday Goodies!

Here’s just a small glimpse in my speedy yet relaxing and soothing Self Care Sunday. Every Self Care day is different. Sometimes I have to move the day because of my schedule. Just make sure you give yourself the time you need for you. You are number one, there is only one of you! Stay relaxed and mask up!
